Veteran Jody Craddock is determined to still be in the Premier League next season with Wolves after being offered a new deal by the club.
Centre-back Craddock, 34, was farmed out on loan in 2007 by Wanderers boss Mick McCarthy.
But he has since established himself as a huge favourite with the Molineux fans.
He has kept his place this term and weighed in with his fifth goal of the season in the 2-2 draw at Aston Villa which gives Wolves’ survival hopes a big boost.
And manager McCarthy has pledged to reward out-of-contract Craddock with a new one-year deal this summer.
Craddock beamed: “Getting another contract’s like a dream for me, I didn’t see that one coming. Who’d have said that at the start of the season? I appreciate it.
“I’ve had a few niggles but it’s really helped me I haven’t had too many injuries.
“If next year I was a bit-part player, I’d be happy with that and just take it as it comes.”
Craddock played in Wolves’ previous top-flight campaign in 2003/2004 when the Midlands club were relegated.
But he added: “That experience has helped me. Hopefully I read the game better and I don’t do as much running in the wrong position. I can hold the right position and use my experience.”
Keeper Marcus Hahnemann has also been offered a new contract along with midfielder David Jones.
Hahnemann, 37, said: “We played really well at Villa against a really good side who, have been up there all season.
“Now we’ve got another huge game against West Ham tomorrow. Another 10 points and we’re safe. We might not need that many but they’d certainly help.
“The most important thing is we’re playing well.”
