Posh laughs off ludicrous Beckham stories

It was business as usual for Victoria Beckham yesterday as she shrugged off “sordid lies” that husband David had slept with a prostitute.
Posh has let it be known that she does not believe one word of the sleazy allegations by vice girl Irma Nici, 26.
A friend revealed: “She says she is behind David 100% – and is refusing to let these totally unfounded claims interfere with their lives.”
Former England skipper Becks, 35, rang Victoria, 36, minutes before the story appeared in US magazine In Touch.
The friend said: “When David was initially informed about the claims he was furious – not to mention bewildered.
“He quickly called Victoria and told her, and the pair spoke about it at length.
“Victoria didn’t even need to ask David about the ludicrous story and, if anything, laughed it off, reassuring him in the process that no one would believe it and that the pair would, together, seek legal advice.
“As far as she is concerned, it’s business as usual. She has a Spring 2011 collection to tie up, and some contractual publicity bits and pieces which she has no intention of pulling out of.
“Similarly, David is going to Trinidad and Tobago over the weekend, as planned, to help with England’s World Cup bid. He also had a series of meetings with sports execs yesterday and agreed for his Christmas advertising campaign to be announced.
“David and Victoria have three young children and they are not going to let this made-up nonsense jeopardise their professional or personal lives.”
As Victoria continued with her fashion work, LA Galaxy star David was yesterday unveiled as the face of the new EA Sports Active 2 campaign.
The couple dined out together in LA on Wednesday night, just hours after the claims broke online. Their show of unity came amid Nici’s accusations that she slept with
David five times. Becks insists he has never even met the Bosnian-born callgirl. The Beckhams immediately issued a statement vehemently denying her claims – and vowing legal action. Last night it emerged they may use British courts to sue for six figure damages. Becks is likely to go to the High Court after being advised he is free to sue in any country because the story was published online.
He has lined up top lawyers in America, London and Germany, where the magazine’s publisher is based. One legal expert said: “As well as suing for libel he may also go for invasion of privacy. It could cost him £300,000 to £400,000 in fees, but he won’t be interested in the money – just clearing his name.”
The Beckhams, their friends and management teams have branded Nici’s story a “pack of lies”. An insider said: “David told the magazine he had evidence that could disprove the allegations. But they just ignored him and printed the story.”
In her interview with In Touch, Nici claims she romped with the devoted dad-of-three at hotels in New York and London in August and September of 2007.
She says she was introduced to him through a mutual friend and claims he called her and asked her to meet him at the Le Parker Meridien Hotel in New York. But a Beckham source insists there are “numerous” inaccuracies in her story.
For instance, she says that when he opened the door to his suite, his hair was still damp from the shower. But the source said: “David had a grade one haircut then, it was extremely short, so that is wrong.
“And during that trip to New York, he was staying at the Waldorf Astoria – not Le Parker Meridien.”
Nici is already trying to make more money from her claims, launching her own seedy website and selling pictures of herself.
The Beckhams are said to be trying to maintain a cool dignity over the allegations, despite their anger.
Just two months ago Posh revealed she and Becks were “more in love than ever”.
