Cristiano Ronaldo, the world's most expensive footballer, made his debut for Real Madrid last night - in a friendly in Dublin against Shamrock Rovers. The Portuguese wing wizard, who moved from Manchester Untied for a whopping £80m earlier in the summer, played only the first 45 minutes and showed one or two flashes of brilliance - though not everything came off.
The Spanish giants won 1-0 thanks to a late goal by another newcomer, Karim Benzema.
