Cole: Hammers can nail down top 10 finish

Carlton Cole has told West Ham to aim for the top half of the table after climbing out of the bottom three.
With Saturday's 3-0 defeat of Stoke, Avram Grant’s side won back-to-back Premier League games for the first time this season. Despite being in the middle of the relegation fight all season, they are now only five points behind ninth-placed Newcastle.
The Hammers must face Spurs and Manchester United in their next two league fixtures. But England striker Cole insisted the momentum of three consecutive home wins - including the FA Cup - must now continue for the rest of the campaign.
"Some of the performances this season have been unacceptable but the players have got together, shown great team commitment and we’re brushing it under the carpet," he said.
“It’s now time to work hard, look to the positives and get ourselves out of the mess that we’re in.
“We’re still on the road to where we want to be - the top half of the table. Hopefully we can still get there, because it’s a funny old Premier League season.
“We can really push on with the form we’re in at the moment.”
Cole's strike partner Demba Ba, who netted his fourth goal in three league starts as a Hammer, added:
"We are working hard. None of us is cheating when we’re on the pitch. We all have the same goal - to stay in the Premier League.
"When you know where you want to go, you do everything to have it.”
The West Ham squad will return from warm-weather training in Portugal tomorrow before Sunday’s FA Cup tie at Stoke.
