West Ham boss Avram Grant has asked for more time to assess Milton Caraglio before committing to a £5million deal.
The Argentine hitman, 22, has travelled to England for a trial with a view to a transfer as revealed by Mirrorsport.
Caraglio, who holds an Italian passport, has had a medical at Upton Park as he is being sold by his club Rosario Central.
He played 64 minutes against MK Dons on Wednesday night in a friendly as the Hammers won 2-0.
But Grant wants to study the 6ft 2in forward more closely before a final decision.
