Wigan boss Roberto Martinez wants to take Chelsea's Argentinian striker Franco Di Santo on loan for the season.
The Latics chief wants the talented target man, who spent last season on loan at Blackburn, to join his Latin-quarter squad and team up with fellow countryman Mauro Boselli in his attack.
Di Santo is also wanted by Bolton and Dutch pair Feyenoord and Twente Enschede. He is keen to move on and would be interested in a permanent switch.
Chelsea are prepared to sell, but they may consider Wigan's request to look first before they buy - with Martinez hoping for a quick answer.
