Mick McCarthy is ready to reward Jody Craddock with a new one-year contract.
Wolves defender Craddock, 34, is in talks over a new deal after impressing in the Premier League this season.
The former Sunderland star was expected to struggle in the top flight but has emerged as one of McCarthyís key men this term.
McCarthy said: "Jody's one of those players who gets better and better with age. He's playing better now than he has ever done.
"I've already decided that I want him here with me next season whatever happens to us."
Craddock was out of contract in the summer and is set to join goalkeeper Marcus Hahnemann by committing his future at Molineux.
