Jabulani ball is reason Messi is struggling, says Maradona
Diego Maradona, never afraid to speak his mind, has launched a fresh attack on the the Jabulani, the controversial World Cup ball which has found few admirers among the players and coaches in South Africa.
Maradona says the design of the ball makes it impossible for the tournament's best players, like Argentina's Lionel Messi, to produce their very best skill and trickery.
"I've tried the ball myself in training," said Maradona. "It doesn't go round the corner and you can't get a good cross to the far post because the ball flies straight. We're not going to see any good moves in this World Cup because no-one can get the ball and control it."
