What are the odds Asamoah Gyan plays for Sunderland this season? Derek McGovern's Bets of the Day
After conducting his first training session at Sunderland this week, Martin O’Neill said he was impressed with the squad.
He then spent three days trying to bring Asamoah Gyan back from his loan deal in the United Arab Emirates.
Gyan has gone to the Middle East and in his honour Sunderland have declared a ceasefire.
I heard he told a friend who’d committed adultery out there not to worry about stoning – he’d get the Sunderland squad to hurl them.
O’Neill has a job on his hands to turn Sunderland into a top-17 club and the Ghanaian is 5-1 with Bet365 to play for them again this season.

They should put expiration dates on clothes so we men will know when they go out of style.
Get on Newcastle at 21-10 to win at Norwich.

MACCA'S ACCA
Last week, I replaced every window in my house. Then I realised I had a crack in my glasses.
The Acca did the business last week at 29-1 and confidence is high for this week's little offering.
Get on Arsenal (4-7), Liverpool (4-11), Spurs (evens) and Wigan (4-1).
The four-timer with Corals pays around 20-1.

Lamont Peterson says his fight against Amir Khan won’t be the toughest of his life because he grew up homeless in Washington DC – that must be especially hard when you’re called Lamont.
Despite his deprived upbringing, Peterson says he was just like any other kid in town except for not having a home and not fully understanding ‘knock knock’ jokes.
Peterson said the most upsetting experience of being homeless was when he asked a bloke in the street for a dollar.
The man asked if he would use it to buy booze.
“No”, said Peterson.
“Well, will you use it to gamble?”
Peterson said no again.
The man then turned to his wife and said: “See what happens to people who don’t drink or gamble.”
I too was poor as a child.
Then I was told I wasn’t poor, I was needy.
Then I wasn’t needy, I was deprived.
Then I wasn’t deprived, I was under-privileged.
I was still dirt-poor but I had one hell of a vocabulary.
Peterson, the 7-1 underdog, has lost just one of 31 professional fights and has never been stopped, not even by those people trying to get your debit-card details for charity.
There’s a chance Khan, the 1-10 favourite with Hills, might take Peterson lightly and that would be a mistake – he’s a light-welterweight.
Peterson looks whopping value at 12-1 to win by KO, TKO or disqualification, unless he gets knocked out himself.

The average bet on a reality TV show is £12. For most it’s the average budget.
The exception is X Factor in which no expense is spared and neither are viewers’ eardrums.
Saturday night’s final promises to be the worst since Milan v Juventus in the 2003 Champions League, because three of the judges will duet with their acts.
I wouldn’t have thought singing a duet with Tulisa was good for anyone, particularly Tulisa, but bookies make her act Little Mix the 11-8 favourites to win the public vote.
Amelia Lily claims her mentor Kelly Rowland doesn’t want her to win so their duet is likely to have all the chemistry of a stink bomb.
That makes Marcus Collins, who sings Billy Joel’s She’s Always A Woman with Gary Barlow, the surefire winner.
Get on at 9-4, and for more than 12 nicker.
