Rafa Benitez plans to get his Liverpool house in order

Rafa Benitez's job is once more in question following rumours on Merseyside yesterday that he has put his house on the market.

Whispers reach me that his £2million home in Caldy was viewed yesterday by four potential buyers and 11 burglars.

Rafa is thought to be looking for a two-up/two-down - which would significantly strengthen Liverpool's chances of staying up next season.

A recession is the worst thing you can have when you're trying to sell a house. When you're trying to sell a player, Ryan Babel is the worst thing you can have.

The rumours could of course be nonsense but the 33-1 offered by Paddy Power that Rafa is the next Premier League boss to lose his job is beginning to look deceptively chunky, as indeed is Rafa.

Sky Bet quote 4-7 that he's not Anfield manager on the first day of next season.

Defeat at Wigan on Monday was a body-blow to Liverpool's Champions League prospects but Rafa has still guaranteed a place in the top fourteen.

Tonight it's the big one, the Europa Leage (the Champions League is sooo last year), with Liverpool visiting Lille in the first leg of a two-legged tie that will see the winners through to the last 128.

The competition has almost as many critics as rounds but the knockers should note that recent finalists have included teams like Alaves, Celtic, Rangers and Middlesbrough, so Liverpool will be in good company if they go all the way.

The Reds are 9-4 with Boylesports to win both legs against Lille - a terrific bet.
