Why you've got to bet against Chelsea tonight
There comes a time in every man's life when he has to bet like a man. That time is today, but don't let your missus find out.
Atletico Madrid at 10-3 to beat Chelsea is that rare beast - a bet of the year, and so far this year I've found only 63 of those, two of which have won.
Ignore their 4-0 defeat by Chelsea in the reverse fixture - they were unlucky. Ignore their lowly position in the Spanish League - they've been unlucky. Take it from me they're gonna give some team a hiding and I know who that team is (which is lucky). It's Chelsea.
Blues already have one foot in the knock-out stage and one eye on Sunday's title crunch with Manchester United, and one thing I've learned from 30 years of betting is always to oppose the one-footed, one-eyed man - unless he's playing a Brit in the Davis Cup.
Madrid's 1-0 defeat at Athletic Bilbao on Saturday made it their worst start to a season in 50 years but ignore that too. They were simply sensational in the second half and should have won doing handsprings.
Atletico have never lost a competitive game on home soil against English opponents. You may say that records are there to be broken, especially Westlife ones, and you would have a point. But tonight Atletico will have three.
Betting has already brought me enough money to last me the rest of my life - providing I don't buy anything - but tonight it's gonna bring me a whole lot more.
I will be lumping on Atletico and when I've finished doing that I'll lump on some more. I strongly suggest you do likewise.
