Five a day: Drogba dancing with Akon, Adrian Chiles swearing on MOTD2, Liverpool's end of season party and footballing grannies - the best things on the web today
Every day at 3pm (or there or thereabouts) we'll try and hasten the inexorable march towards hometime by bringing you some funny stuff we found on the web... Here's Thursday's Five A Day:
1) Football Banter has a new favourite team, and they go by the splendid name of Vakhegula Vakhegula (try making a chant out of that if you can...). Literally translated as the 'Grannies', they play in the Nkowankowa township of Tzaneen, South Africa, and want to play an exhibition game before the 2010 World Cup. Although, looking at them in action, we reckon they'd probably give Brazil more of a run for their money than England's reserves did the other week. Check out pictures of them in action above (click the full screen icon for the full effect) - come on the grannies!
2) Yes, we realise we're a little bit late to this. And also, it's not nice to keep picking on the Liverpool fans. But if football fans can't enjoy the odd cold glass of schadenfreude once in a while, then what is this world coming to? So reserve your ticket for the Liverpool End of Season Party now.
3) As long-time admirers of Harry Hill's TV Burp, the increased air-time being given to the Knitted Character - essentially the Jar Jar Binks of primetime ITV - really grinds our gears. And, judging by this clip, he's not doing much for Adrian Chiles either (warning: contains very bad language)
4) The excellent Off The Post blog spotted this cringe-worthy display of footwork involving singer Akon and Chelsea star Didier Drogba, filmed at the latter's charity fund-raising bash at the Dorchester last weekend. The most remarkable aspect of this video? Drogba manages to stay on his feet all the way through. Guffaw.
5) Who says Ronaldinho is finshed? These clips of the buck-toothed wonder in action against Marseilles the other night suggest otherwise...
