Footballers who look like characters from TV show The Wire, starring Glen Johnson, Ashley Young and Robbie Keane
News emerged today that, in a rare outbreak of wit, Liverpool players have broken with tradition and come up with a nickname for new team-mate Glen Johnson that doesn't simply involve putting a 'y' on the end of his name.
Yes, Glen Johnson is now known at Melwood as 'Snoop' - and not after the rapper. But rather a - female! - gang member from cult US TV show The Wire .
This obviously got us thinking... What other footballers look like characters from the show? You can see our efforts in the gallery above:
Glen Johnson - Snoop
Ashley Young - Marlo Stanfield
Michael Ballack - Jimmy McNulty
Josip Simunic - Roland 'Prez' Pryzbylewski
Danny Cullip - Herc
Gary Neville - Ziggy
Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink - Webay
Robbie Keane - Tommy Carcetti
Bernard Mendy - Chris Partlow
Patrick Vieira - Colonel Cedric Daniels
Nigel Reo-Coker - Poot
But can you think of any more? And more importantly, who should be Omar?
