10 more Italian innovations for Man City

Roberto Manini's Manchester City revolution has extended to the introduction of Italian staples pizza and booze into the pre-match routine.

Although given the club's recent history with managers, it's unlikely he'll get to enjoy a full four seasons...

But why stop there? Here's 10 other innovations from the homeland that Roberto could consider:

1) Taking mind games to a new level ahead of the Carling Cup semi-final by leaving the severed head of Rock of Gibraltar in Fergie's bed

2) Conducting TV interviews accompanied by a gyrating 'glamour' model (hey - if it's good enough for Capello and Ancelotti on Italian show Chiambretti Night , then it's good enough for Garth Crooks on Football Focus).

3) Introducing a new nighttime aquatic training programme: sleeping with the fishes

4) Replacing the team coach with a fleet of Lambrettas

5) Changing sides at half-time (oh, hang on - they already do that one)

6) Making the fans' away-day trains run on time

7) Insisting his star players live at home with their mamas

8) Announcing new signings by releasing white smoke from a special Eastlands chimney

9) Organising team bonding sessions in the form of gondola tours of the Manchester Ship Canals

10) Winning trophies (well, City fans can dream, can't they?)
