Ronaldinho and co showboating with blindfolds, Manchester City's latest showoff, more violent American women and rival fans shooting a TV - the five best things we found on the web today
Every day at 3pm (well, there or thereabouts...) we'll help your afternoon go that little bit faster by bringing you the five best football-related things we've found on the web today. Cheer up - it's almost beer o'clock!
Here's Thursday's gun-toting fun and games:
1) For anyone who's ever watched a striker sky the ball over the bar from four yards out and thought that they could have hit the target blindfolded (Fulham fans should recognise this sensation), here's a load of footballers showing exactly what they CAN do wearing such an item on their head. Although, frankly, we think Ronaldinho is cheating.
2) Man City fans are used to seeing extravagant exhibitionists strutting around the Eastlands pitch, but this kid surely takes the proverbial. Not content with scoring past Shay Given, the little fella then shamelessly showboats for the crowd. Rumours Mark Hughes put in a £25million bid for him afterwards were sadly made up by us just then.
3) It's been, ooh, at least a week or two since we had footage of some American women all but assaulting each other on the soccer pitch, so here's some more courtesy of the Dirty Tackle blog. Kelley O’Hara earned herself two yellow cards for these outrageous tackles - although, frankly, we think the ref was being lenient...
4) Following on from this morning's Top 10 goalie goals comes what is surely the world's worst goalie goal celebration. 101 Great Goals found this clip of ex-Dagenham and Redbridge keeper Paul Gothard marking Auckland City FC's Club World Cup victory over Al Alhi by... well, see for yourself.
5) We're bending the rules to head back over into American Football territory, here, but we're sure you'll agree it's worth it. This fella told his mates they could SHOOT HIS TV of the Saints beat the Redskins. The Saints duly did - winning 33-30 in over time. Cue the arrival of a truck-load of gun-toting crazies...
