10 things you need to know about Loic Remy plus video of his goals
Nice striker Loic Remy is currently one of the hottest properties in European football, with Liverpool, Tottenham and West Ham all battling it out for his signature .
But what do we know about the French striker? MirrorFootball's Ed Siddeley is here with the lowdown...
1) Loic Remy was born on 1 January 1987 in Lyon.
2) He began his career playing for local outfit ASPTT Lyon and joined the Olympique Lyonnais youth system after being spotted by scouts. He signed his first professional contract with the Ligue 1 side on 11 October 2006, making his first team debut three days later as a substitute against Saint-Etienne.
3) His first professional goal came on 9 February 2008 against Caen - wearing a Lens shirt. He scored four times during his 12 appearances while on a six month loan for the second half of the 2007-08 season, but the club did not take up a purchase option in the loan deal.
4) Instead Remy joined Nice from Lyon in June 2008. The reported €8 million fee makes him Nice's record signing.
5) In the 63 league appearances he has made for Nice he has bagged 24 goals - a ratio of about 0.38 goals per game. Last season he managed 14 goals and three assists in his 34 appearances.
6) After three goals in nine appearances for the U21 team, he earned his first call-up to the full squad in March 2008 after an injury to Thierry Henry, playing in a France A side against Mali.
7) He had to wait more than a year after that game to win his first international cap for France, coming on as a substitute against Nigeria on 2 June 2009.
8) He has so far scored 30 goals in his 96 club appearances to date. His discipline seems fairly sound, attracting four yellow cards and one red card.
9) Remy has been labelled as the new 'Thierry Henry'. He plays principally as striker but can also play right wing.
10) His current contract runs until 2012 but he is interested in leaving. He has been targeted by West Ham and Arsenal and has also been linked to a return to his former club Lyon.
