When Action Man was all done with being an army man, a sailor, a Nazi Stormtrooper, a frogman and a Canadian Mountie, what better way to relax than by slipping on his football kit and turning out for Chelsea?
Because the large majority of Action Man enthusiasts kept their figures strictly military, the scarcity value of the football range has seen eBay prices soaring.
Last year a slightly rusty ‘Action Man - Tottenham Hotspur’ lapel badge, which was given away with the ‘Football Club Packs’, fetched over SIX HUNDRED QUID!
There’s currently an Aston Villa kit on the auction site which has a bid of £480, but which hasn’t yet met the reserve price.
So next time you visit your mum’s, take a trip up the loft ladder and seek out that pair of inch-long white mod socks you vaguely remember. They could pay for a night out down the King's Road.
