Scott Parker's season highlights: How he won the Football Writers' Footballer of the Year award
After Scott Parker was voted 2011 Footballer of the Year by the Football Writers Association, we have rounded up the best moments of the West Ham midfielder's fantastic season.
1) August 24, 2010 - Parker grabs the winner as the Hammers get their Carling Cup campaign off the ground with a 1-0 triumph over Oxford United.
2) September 11, 2010 - At 3-0 down, the game may have already been beyond doubt, but Parker's brilliantly-executed consolation strike against Chelsea still deserves a mention.
3) September 18, 2010 - Parker nets the opener with a close-range finish against Stoke as West Ham pick up their first Premier League point of the season after a 1-1 draw at the Britannia Stadium.
4) October 27, 2010 - With the Hammers minutes away from being dumped out of the Carling Cup after Kenwyne Jones had headed Stoke in front at Upton Park, Parker pops up with an invaluable equaliser to force the tie to extra time before Victor Obinna and Manuel da Costa strike to book their place in the quarter-finals.
5) November 27, 2010 - In what as billed as the Hammers' "Save our Season" clash, Parker nets West Ham's third as Avram Grant's men seal a vital 3-1 victory over Wigan at Upton Park.
6) February 9, 2011 - Parker earns a recall to the national side after a five-year absence, making a substitute appearance in England's 2-1 friendly win over Denmark
7) February 12, 2011 - After finding themselves 3-0 down at half-time to West Brom, Parker rallies his troops with an inspirational team talk during the interval, inspiring the Hammers to claw their way back to draw the game 3-3. "If you were there you would have had a tear in your eye," said Carlton Cole after the match.
8) February 27, 2011 - The midfielder sets Avram Grant's men on their way by scoring the Hammers' superb opener in their brilliant 3-1 win over Liverpool at Upton Park.
9) March 26, 2011 - The former Charlton man sparkles as England's holding midfielder during the national side's 2-0 Euro 2012 qualifier win over Wales at the Millennium Stadium.
10) April 8, 2011 - The 30-year-old's impressive displays over the course of the 2010-11 campaign are rewarded with a place on the PFA Player of the Year shortlist..
