Hammers fans cringed as the start of a new era was heralded with a bubble machine and a tape of Cockernee favourites including Knees Up Mother Brown and Roll Out The Barrel .
No word yet on when the Hammers will stage its first eel-eating contest, world record spoon-playing marathon or half-time tribute to the Kray Twins, but 3PM will keep you posted.
