Could Stoke City be treating their not-so-secret weapon - Rory Delap's enormous throw-ins - a touch too pompously?
Asked on Saturday why Delap's massive hurls into the danger area appeared a bit flatter than usual, manager Tony Pulis replied that, "like Shane Warne, Rory has a lot of different variations of his delivery".
And yes, he was entirely serious in comparing javelin thrower Delap with the most artful leg spinner of this or any other generation.
