Why it's a dog life at United for Anderson and watch Burnley's brilliant housework video

A Manchester United player craze for Bernese Mountain Dogs has had unfortunate consequences for midfielder Anderson.

The talented linguist, who last year told MUTV “I no speak England very very good, mate”, was so impressed with the hounds team-mates were buying from a shop in Salford that he decided to get two of his own.

Unfortunately, Anderson forgot to specify a pair of the same sex… and now has a litter of 10 animals who between them will require 40 bowls of dog food per day when fully grown.

The causes of Richard Keys and Andy Gray’s downfall may have escaped the great Alan Brazil.

When the pair appeared on Brazil’s Talksport breakfast programme on Tuesday morning to trail a forthcoming appearance by Italian football expert Laura Esposto on their show, Big Al replied: “Is that a bird?”

Has Burnley’s hot streak of three consecutive wins, including Saturday’s victory at Upton Park, been inspired by an extra-cheesy but brilliant video on the club’s website?

Made to illustrate how the internet can bring fans closer to players, it features Turf Moor stars popping up in supporters’ homes. Best moments? Jay Rodriguez doing the ironing and keeper Brian Jensen leaping acrobatically to stop a washed-up mug being smashed on the kitchen floor.

One fan described it as “even funnier than Blackburn Rovers.” Watch it below
