Patrice Evra must learn to put le sock in it

Every club has a player who likes to mouth off. Quite often he's wrong, and quite often he leaves his fans either cringing or bemused.

One such player is Patrice Evra. Who kindly rubbed salt into raw Arsenal wounds after the Champions League semi-final by saying it was "Eleven men against 11 babies."

Wrong and unnecessary. Last month he left Anfield after the 2-0 defeat saying: "The advice was to play our football but we didn't do that and I don't know why." Which had many United fans demanding to know why lavishly-paid internationals can so easily put a defeat against their biggest rivals down to "not playing."

And his noises this week about vowing revenge over Chelsea will surely have those same fans wincing.

Play your football, monsieur. Then do your talking.
