And now you're Gunner believe me... Arsenal can win the title

My, how they laughed when I insisted back in August that Arsenal could win the title.

Even some colleagues I work with suggested I had been at the gin, maintaining that - for the Gunners - it would be another season of struggle without any big money signings.

Instead, Arsenal are into the quarter-finals of the Carling Cup, odds-on to make the knockout stages of the Champions League and, to use a horse racing term, waiting with a double handful in the Premier League.

They have attacking options coming out of their ears and, don't forget, Bendtner, Walcott and Rosicky are/have been injured, while Nasri has only just come back.

At the back, Thomas Vermaelen looks a more than adequate replacement for Kolo Toure who, it now appears, was sold to Manchester City by Arsene Wenger at the right time.

And the side is playing with such a confidence that anything is possible for them this season.

They have scored 55 goals in all competitions so far, 36 in the Premier League and, in six of their League games, they have scored four or more goals.

Not for them a reliance on one or two players like at Liverpool. If Fabregas, Arshavin or Van Persie don't play, Arsenal just keep on winning.

They are much more mature now, with the experience of defeat now driving them. The title is well within their grasp.
