When Phil Brown leaves Hull, he should be a shoo-in for UN General Secretary
If Phil Brown ever tires of football, which I don't think he ever will, he has a ready made career waiting for him at the UN or ACAS.
Such are Brown's mediating and peacemaking skills, he makes Nelson Mandela look like a rookie.
Take last Thursday for example. Brown and his No.2 Brian Horton attended a heated Q & A session at a local social club in Hull and according to the Tigers boss, he got a few "curve balls from left field" thrown at him.
One bloke was even chucked out.
But after taking a few moments to compose himself, Brown claims he answered all their criticisms and that by the end of the evening "they were standing on their chairs applauding".
Not even Tony Blair could work a room that well and I think Brown is wasted at the KC.
We should put him on the next train down to London to sort out the postal strike.
After a few hours with Brown, I'm sure Adam Crozier and the Communications Workers Union would come out best buddies and restore each other to their Christmas card lists.
And when he's resolved that dispute, we can fly him to Iran to sort out their little disagreement with the international community over their nuclear ambitions.
While he's out there he could also pop into Jerusalem and get the Israelis and the Palestinians to sort out their problems.
All this should be a breeze for our Phil after what he did on Thursday.
