Why can't all managers be as honest as David Moyes was following Everton's defeat in the Merseyside derby?
Fair play to David Moyes for the way he handled Everton's sickening defeat to Liverpool in the 212th Merseyside derby.
A compatriot of his might have let rip at the officials to divert attention from the loss and his side slipping to 16th in the table.
Moyes could have taken issue with Jo's first offside 'goal' and it was a hairline decision for the assistant referee to make.
But he accepted it, adding that he thought referee Alan Wiley and his assistants got the big decisions right.
Moyes feels it is important that managers say when officials get it right because it will give them more authority when they criticise their mistakes.
He makes a good point and far too many managers will react furiously when their side is on the wrong end of an incorrect decision, only to shrug it off when the roles are reversed by claiming they are due some luck.
Officials, fans and the powers-that-be would have more time for managers if, like Moyes, they were more honest.
Managers are quick to moan when officials get it wrong, but they should be just as quick to acknowledge when they get tough calls right.
That would take some of the huge pressure off officials and surely that can only benefit everyone.
