Why Coventry City fans must be questioning the ambition of chairman Ray Ranson

Coventry's blistering start to the Championship campaign papered over the cracks in their squad following the sale of Scott Dann and Daniel Fox.

Chris Coleman's City side briefly topped the table after back-to-back wins in their first two League matches.

But they have now lost two games on the spin and will do very well to finish in the top six this season.

It shows if you want to get out of the Championship, you have to keep your best players.

And City's behaviour this summer must have fans questioning the ambition of chairman Ray Ranson after he flogged Dann to Birmingham and Fox to Celtic.

Ranson clearly likes to wheel and deal and being a former pro can spot a decent player.

But Ranson cannot expect to keep selling off Coventry's prized assets and expect the club to go back up.
