Why Arsenal need to be more open about their finances

At the Emirates last Saturday, I was in the press box when an Arsenal fan, a middle aged guy, went over to the Radio Five Live commentator and shouted into his microphone: "Sack the manager."
It went across the airwaves because the fan had the hump as Arsenal were held to a fourth consecutive goalless draw, this time against Fulham.
You see two Doubles, a season unbeaten in the Premier League, FA Cups and unprecedented success during Arsene Wenger's managerial reign is not enough for what I call the Nick Hornby brigade.
They read Fever Pitch, forgot they never used to go during the rubbish days of the 1970s and 1980s and then suddenly took up football because Arsenal were successful, and their middle to upper class life means they can afford a season ticket at the Emirates.
They forget that Arsene Wenger was the man who made Arsenal successful. He deserves more respect. My beef with Arsenal is that they are not being very open about their finances.
If Arsenal have money to spend and Wenger is putting his faith in his kids who do not measure up to Manchester United and the rest then even the idiot fan on Saturday has a right to question the manager.
But if Wenger is making the best of a limited budget and working miracles on a shoestring then he deserves praise not criticism.
However, it's about time someone came clean.
