Brighton early favourites to excel in Championship
Who are the best fans in the Premier League?
We could be here all day and every supporter will say their own.
Judging on being the loudest, despite not having too much to shout about in terms of trophies, Manchester City, Stoke and Newcastle are right up there.
But at least they have decent grounds and Premier League football.
That's why Brighton supporters should step forward and take a bow.
For those of us old enough to remember, Brighton were a big club. And remain so (that's why I'd love to see QPR not be denied promotion to the Premier League. Tradition and affection).
But they left the Goldstone in 1997, squatted at Gillingham for two years (a 150-mile round trip), still maintained good crowds and have been well supported at the Withdean (despite poor facilities) ever since.
Now they have bounced back because of boss Gus Poyet and have a new wonderfully built 22,500-seater stadium - and they will fill it.
What's more, don't bet against Poyet and Brighton excelling next season in the Championship, especially with their fans behind them.
