Why the future is looking torrid for Liverpool, plus Dowie is too late to save Hull

Fernando Torres has been linked to moves away from Liverpool – and if Rafa Benitez goes or the Reds fail to reach the top four, he may well go.
But what if Liverpool get offered £30million for Steven Gerrard? Will they turn that down?
And more than anything, if Liverpool finish fourth after the season they’ve had, what does it say about the rest of the Premier League?
Manchester City can change the face of the top four if they get in, because they would buy, buy, buy, making it even harder for clubs to break the domination and for Liverpool to get back.

Iain Dowie inherits a team in desperate trouble. He is a big character, who can make a difference, but does not have enough time.
Hull have nine games left and even though Dowie is a good appointment, it’s too late. Even worse for Hull are the financial implications for the club if they go down.
It doesn’t bear thinking about with their wage bill and debt.
