Michael Carrick deserves an England chance - but I don't expect Fabio Capello to give him one

Fabio Capello may have a look at a few different players in the forthcoming World Cup qualifiers.

But it’s hard to see the England manager pulling off too many major surprises.

Darren Bent is a player he may look at in the next few months. But can you envisage Bent in an England shirt leading the line in South Africa? No. The same goes for Gabby Agbonlahor.

Michael Carrick did well the other night in front of Capello so may yet have a role to play. I’d like to see him being given a chance, but don’t expect any selection shockers.
