Paul Hart is a hero but Pompey are still going down
Paul Hart deserves a hero-gram from his chairman every day he turns up for work as manager of Portsmouth.
In fact, the chairman should say: “Thanks for doing this job.”
I find it incredible that Hart’s future is under threat when, in reality, it’s impossible for Portsmouth to stay up.
Don’t get me wrong, I’ve seen Pompey twice this season and they really haven’t been that bad. They are not playing like a team at rock bottom.
But it’s been mission impossible for Paul Hart ever since the fire sale started with the sale of Jermain Defoe and then went Lassana Diarra, Peter Crouch, Sylvain Distin, Niko Kranjcar and even Sol Campbell was allowed to go.
What have they signed as replacements? Championship players. And when you sign Championship players there’s only one place you’re going to end up.
