Why the FA must appoint Martin O'Neill as Fabio Capello's successor
Making a mistake isn’t a problem. Repeating a mistake is a crime. Something to ponder, as the FA seeks Fabio Capello’s successor.
The usual suspects – Woy, ’Arry, Wor Steve and Big Sam – are interested.
Strange how Martin O Neill has suddenly become a non-person. He’s an Ulsterman but, in football terms, was raised in England. He’s the ideal age, free to be assimilated into the group.
The FA have rejected him once. They shouldn’t do so again.

They’re expected to settle for a pittance. Yet the administrator is blithely paying two Stoke rejects £1million a year.
I don’t blame Liam Lawrence and Dave Kitson for protecting their standard of living. I blame football for letting a renegade club do its worst.
