Why Wayne Rooney deserves a chance to rediscover his form

Wayne Rooney may be well short of his best but he still managed to produce the best moment of Manchester United's match against Bolton on Sunday with a raking cross-field pass that cut out four Bolton defenders on its way through to Ryan Giggs.
Both physically and mentally, Rooney looks like he needs a rest but after the way he has played for the last few years and the entertainment and commitment he has provided, the least he deserves is a little patience.
