Super League idea just part of Mad world of Florentino Perez

Real Madrid president Florentino Perez took a little time off from spending hundreds of millions of euros his club doesn't have to spout some recycled garbage about the need for a new elite breakaway.

"We have to agree a new European Super League which guarantees the best always play the best," said Perez, "which is something that does not happen in the Champions League."

By "the best", Perez obviously means "the richest".

Because if it really was a league for the best, Madrid wouldn't be anywhere near it.
