Robbie's Story Of The Week... Why you should never let your missus pack your passport
Derby played a friendly in Amsterdam last night so I had to be at Midlands Airport at 4am on Thursday morning.
I'm useless at remembering passports so I was delighted earlier on in the week when my lovely wife Sarah said, "Don't worry, I've put yours in your bag, ready to go."
So, Thursday morning I'm there bright and early. And everything's going well until I hand my passport over and the woman behind the desk hands it straight back to me. And I'm looking down at a passport picture of my missus!
So I'm writing this at mid-day, having gone home, found the right passport - thanks Sarah - and driven back to the airport. My flight leaves at 4pm and the match starts at 7!
Thanks to Paul, Winstanley, our ProZone man, for staying back with me for the later flight. For his troubles, I promised him 200 Euros to spend on whatever he likes in Amsterdam - so if he comes back with a big smile on his face I think we'll know how he spent it.
The scariest thing about the whole episode was when the woman at check-in looked at the picture of Sarah with her long hair, looked back at me and said, "You know, if you had a shave and wore some make-up I think you might get away with it"!
