We're sorry to see Adam Pearson leave Derby, but we're confident things will Glick into place

It was a shock to see Adam Pearson quit Derby as chairman this week but he goes with our best wishes.

A top bloke and real football man who always did right by me, he’ll be remembered as someone who brought stability to the club at a difficult time.

Adam battled hard to keep the club in the Premier League. Paul Jewell’s reign as boss might not have worked out, particularly for me, but no one can deny Adam backed him all the way.

When we did go down, he faced a massive task to stop the club from dropping again and heading into financial crisis. He and Nigel Clough kept us up last season and did so while halving a wage bill which was hurting the club.

Now we have stability off the field, which we feel can help us turn things around on the pitch.

I know our new chairman Tom Glick will do a great job.

As a former executive of basketball’s NBA, he has got some exciting ideas. And also he has a real passion for the game, which is shared by Clough.

Working closely together, I think they will be able to build on what Adam has done here.
