Carlo Cudicini will pay an even heavier price for motorbike madness

I want to wish Carlo Cudicini a speedy recovery but think he should and will be sacked for riding a motorbike.

Obviously my first thoughts are for Spurs’ former Chelsea keeper’s health following his motobike smash this week.

But one of the important things in my contract when I played football was no motorbikes or dangerous sports.

And I am absolutely stunned that a Premier League player decided to ride around London on a bike.

Tottenham boss Harry Redknapp doesn’t rate the goalkeeper particularly highly at any rate by all accounts.

And once Cudicini has recuperated, I would expect him to be moved on.

As a professional footballer it is an absolute no-no to be on a motorbike.

If players read the small print of their contracts, which a lot of players don’t bother doing, then they will surely find something in there.

I was always told you don’t have a bike until you retire.
