Portsmouth were mad to let Dave Nugent go to Burnley
I was delighted to see Dave Nugent get a couple of goals for Burnley on his home debut.
It was fantastic for the lad and thoroughly deserved after what he's been through.
As a striker, you have peaks and troughs in your career and sometimes you just need a manager to put his arm around you and show faith in you.
I had that with Martin O'Neill at Leicester and with my managers at Southend and it makes all the difference to you.
After being given the cold shoulder at Portsmouth, Dave's getting that now from Burnley boss Owen Coyle and you can see the response from him.
I can't understand what Portsmouth are doing and after selling Jermain Defoe and Peter Crouch, they should have given Dave his chance to show finally what he can do.
Instead they go and sell him. He scores two for Burnley to maintain their 100 per cent home record and Portsmouth lose again to sink further into trouble.
