Champ of the Week: Jonathan Woodgate
Jonathan Woodgate, the 31 year-old defender, was inspirational in Stoke’s Europa League victory on Thursday night. It was great to see the former England star back in competitive action although I vividly remember seeing him play for Spurs in Europe before then to vanish through injury.
Chump of the Week: Steven Whittaker
It was literally a “throw back” to when you were at school – hurling the ball at an unsuspecting opponent. That’s exactly what Steven Whittaker did in the 18th minute against Malmo in a Champions League qualifier and cost his club around £15 million.
