Why I'm back SAF to beat AVB by a TKO

The death of Muhammad Ali’s legendary trainer Angelo Dundee inspired my take on today’s showdown at Stamford Bridge.

This afternoon’s main bout is a heavyweight clash featuring the Crafty Cockneys and the in-form Red Devils.

Canny trainer, Sir “Angelo” Ferguson, has his top fighter, Wayne “The Pain” Rooney, available again but recent contests at the Bridge have resulted in too many knockdowns for the Manchester fighters.

However, should Fernando “Fresh Air” Torres enter the ring, then United should breathe a sigh of relief – the Spanish “Rope-a-Dope” has failed to land a single blow in nearly 18 hours of action.

Injuries have deprived the Chelsea trainer, Andre Villas-Boxas, of experienced punchers but the Portuguese pugilist has no intention of throwing in the towel.

The Old Trafford Old Guard have no need to go toe-to-toe with their hosts but should bob and weave with quick jabs from “Nitro” Nani and “Bashley” Young.

United must avoid tight clinches by using their speed and superior footwork and putting in as many left and right crosses as possible.

I score a United TKO on AVB but this match-up should go the full distance.

Champ of the Week: David Moyes
The Chancellor of the Exchequer should contact the Everton boss about how to survive on a shoestring budget. Last week’s victory over megabucks Manchester City was a lesson in stretching resources to the limit. Perhaps there’s a job for David at the Royal Bank of Scotland?

And finally...
Mick McCarthy is a great leader but his team seems to find extraordinary ways to self-destruct. Mick certainly won’t capitulate but his win-less Wolves had better bare their teeth soon before it’s too late.
