Five more equally stupid rules Platini might want to introduce alongside summer football

If Michel Platini, the UEFA President, wants a universal football season timetable from March to October in 2015, then summer football he shall have.

Never mind tradition – let’s get rid of centuries of memories because Qatar bought the World Cup in 2022 and everything must be altered to suit the greatest circus on earth.

Platini might also be considering:

1) A new rule to be introduced which punishes a player from entering the magnetic field of an opponent;

2) No French player being penalised for handling the ball;

3) France becoming the venue for every World Cup after 2022;

4) The World Cup being renamed the Sepp Blatter World Champions Cup;

5) French becoming the official language of the World Cup.

The problem is that FIFA’s executive committee members are too blind to see that public opinion would be dead against the proposed summer leagues.

But, then again, what other business fails to consult its core customers when drastically changing the structure of its product?

It sounds like Michel has been advising the SPL in Scotland in his spare time, too!
