Revealed: The most popular Premier League star in the world
Who is the most popular Premier League star in the world?
Well, according to the SportingiD/Premier League Season Review there is a clear winner.
When it comes to selling replica shirts around the globe the superhero is Liverpool striker Fernando Torres.
The figures relate to last season and Torres’s popularity is even more remarkable in that Anfield team-mate Steven Gerrard came second. Four players dropped out of the top 10 and they included former Manchester United hero Cristiano Ronaldo and Old Trafford stars Nani and Dimitar Berbatov.
Arsenal’s Theo Walcott also lost his top-10 status.
They were replaced by Michael Owen and Didier Drogba, while Carlos Tevez and Jamie Carragher re-entered the top 10 after dropping out during the 2008-09 season.
