Arsenal target Yann M’Vila has given the club a huge boost by claiming he would snub Real Madrid to work with Arsene Wenger.
The highly-rated midfielder, valued at £22million, is coveted by a clutch of big clubs after impressing in recent seasons in France with Rennes.
But 21-year-old M’vila indicated to TV station Canal Plus that Wenger’s interest could swing things the Gunners’ way.
He said: “Inter, Arsenal, Real... I will take the fun everywhere! These are great clubs.
“But if the coach calls you and tells you he wants you to make you play, especially a French coach, it changes everything.
“The important thing for me is getting playing time for the France team.”
M’vila has three years left on his contract but coach Frederic Antonetti has already publicly admitted the midfielder is likely to quit the club this summer.
Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger is a known admirer, but M'Vila also joked that he'd like to link up with compatriot Karim Benzema at Real Madrid.
Responding to rumours Jose Mourinho called him personally to inquire about a possible transfer, M'Villa joked:
“Mourinho calling me? he does not even have my number! But play at Real? Yeah, it would be an absolute blast!"
Meanwhile former Arsenal keeper Jens Lehmann has warned impending Arsenal capture Lukasz Podolski that the pace of the Premier League is likely to come as a shock to him.
Podolski, 27 in June, is understood to have agreed terms with the Gunners already ahead of an £11m, end-of-season switch from Cologne.
Lehmann said: “He is quick, dangerous in front of the goal, and has a good pass. I’m happy for him if he joins Arsenal soon.
“It won’t be easy, though. He will have to get used to the pace, and he will have to realise that participating is not enough. You must win. Expectations are very high.”
