Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger insists he will not make any signings in January - even though Real Madrid midfielder Esteban Granero is desperate to join the Gunners.
Wenger has already tried to play down interest in the 24-year-old Spanish midfielder, who is keen to leave Real Madrid.
Granero has fallen out of favour at the Bernabeu and been told he can leave, with the Spanish giants willing to accept a cut-price fee of around £5million.
Borussia Dortmund's teen forward Mario Gotze is on Arsenal's wish-list, but the Germans insist they do not want to sell.
Wenger claims his biggest job will not be signing new players but ensuring that all of his top names stay at the Emirates.
"At the moment, in the transfer window we are just interested in keeping our squad," he said. "We have a big squad and we are not after anybody."
Striker Robin van Persie has 18 months left on his contract and Arsenal are desperate to tie him to a long-term deal and avoid potentially having to sell him next summer to avoid watching him walk away on a free in 2013.
Re-signing England winger Theo Walcott is also a priority, as his contract also expires at the end of next season.
Spanish giants Barcelona have reportedly been keeping tabs on Walcott, according to Spanish reports.
Walcott has impressed Barca during their Champions League meetings with Arsenal.
