Birmingham have slapped a staggering £12million price tag on their in-demand starlet Nathan Redmond.
Mirror Sport this week revealed Premier League leaders Manchester City are keen on a £6m bid for the winger in January.
Redmond, 17, became Birmingham’s second-youngest debutant – behind Trevor Francis – aged 16 years and 173 days, in August 2010. He has emerged as a fine prospect with some stunning Europa League displays after making seven starts.
Cash-strapped Championship City face an uncertain future – with owner Carson Yeung up on money laundering charges.
But the club rate Redmond as highly as Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, 18, who joined Arsenal in August from Southampton for £12m – and want the same money.
