Michel Salgado is weighing up an offer to end his career with his pal David Beckham at LA Galaxy.
Salgado has been frozen out at Blackburn because of a contract dispute and is mulling over one last move when he becomes a free agent in the summer.
The Spanish full-back has had an offer from Qatar and one from Galaxy where he would be reunited with his former Real Madrid team-mate Beckham in the MLS.
Salgado, 36, is keen to play again after being left in cold storage by Rovers since mid-December because he was close to making enough appearances to automatically trigger a new deal.
Blackburn have shunned the two-time Champions League winner while they have been fighting relegation and it is understood he would have been prepared to waive his right to a contract extension to keep playing.
A source close to Salgado said: “Michel felt he could have helped the team, but he was told before Christmas that he could not play. He was prepared to rip up his contract and agree to leave in the summer, but they said no.
“The club wanted him to go in January, but he didn’t want to uproot his children before the end of the school year. Now he is considering offers from the Middle East and Qatar.”
