Bolton boss Owen Coyle is ready to swoop for US international striker Teal Bunbury.
Bunbury, 21, plays for Sporting Kansas City and wants to come to England after breaking into the States' national team under new boss Jurgen Klinsmann.
The tall youngster comes from good footballing stock - his dad Alex played for Canada and was a pro in Portugal.
Bunbury was on trial at Stoke last summer but there were complications and the deal fell through.
Coyle wants to check on Bunbury's fitness, as he ended the MLS season with an injury.
Bunbury has knocked back an approach from German side Hoffenheim for a chance to impress at the Reebok and should arrive within a fortnight.
A fee and a contract will be discussed once he's in the UK.
