Chelsea are watching Napoli star Edinson Cavani as they look to replace powerhouse striker Didier Drogba, according to reports.
Drogba, 33, is thought to be in his final season at Stamford Bridge, and the Blues' new European scout, Mick Doherty, is said to have made a number of trips to watch the 24-year-old Uruguayan in action since joining Andre Villas-Boas' backroom staff.
Sources close to Napoli, who rejected approaches from Manchester City for Cavani in the summer after he scored 26 goals last season, suggest an offer of around £35million could be too good to resist, the report claims.
Last month, Cavani scored for Napoli when they drew 1-1 with City in the Champions League, and also rattled in a Serie A hat-trick against AC Milan.
