Chelsea battling Mourinho for Benfica ace

Andre Villas-Boas and mentor Jose Mourinho are ready to lock horns over Benfica left-back Fabio Coentrao.
The new Chelsea coach and the Real Madrid's ex-Blues boss are both big admirers of the 23-year-old who can also play on the opposite flank or at left wing.
Mourinho has been actively pursuing Coentrao for several weeks with Benfica having already rejected a cash-plus-player deal.
Coentrao, however, is understood to have a £27million buy-out clause which Villas-Boas is ready to activate.
Should Chelsea win the race for his services, it would throw a cloud over the future of Ashley Cole.
The 30-year-old England defender, who was a target for Mourinho last summer, has two years left to run on his contract.
But he is understood to have given a move to Spain - to fill his old Stamford Bridge gaffer's problem position - much thought.
