Marlon Harewood has signed for Chinese club Shenzhen Phoenix on a bumper six-month deal.
The ex-West Ham and Aston Villa forward is a free agent after opting to quit Blackpool following relegation.
He has snubbed interest from Millwall, Reading and Notts County to sign for Shenzhen.
Harewood,31, is now awaiting international clearance before making his debut in the Far East.
Phoenix are aiming to rise from the ashes of last season’s relegation and bounce straight back to China’s Super League.
They have a new wealthy owner who is one of China’s biggest hotel builders and is re-branding the club with a new name.
If successful and he settles in China, Harewood has been promised a long-term contract.
